WHAT'S HOT AND WHAT IS NOT?
Tuesday 2nd March 2010
With temperatures across Europe remaining on the down side there is no immediate indication of prices falling for another few weeks.
Many fruit and vegetables remain expensive as follows:
Icebergs are still pricey, Cucumbers have rocketed, Courgettes have remained high and all Tomatoes - Beef, Plum, Cherry and Vine are much higher than usual for this time of year. Only low quantities are available as awaiting second crop from Spain and Canaries.
All Capsicums/Peppers (Red, Yellow, Green) have seen a rise this week.
All lettuce are expensive at the moment especially Frisee.
Baby Fennel is currently unavailable due to crop failure.
Baby Spinach price has dropped slightly.......
Jacket Potatoes are ok and the price is good.
Strawberries and Raspberries are beginning to suffer with cold weather in Spain and Dutch crops are expensive!
